Talkyzoo is an English app for kids ages 4 to 7 where children learn by speaking, singing and playing, with voice recognition that runs on the device.
Talkyzoo is an English-learning app for children ages 4 to 7. Kids explore a zoo map, say words out loud, sing along in karaoke and play games, while on-device voice recognition listens to their pronunciation. Spaced repetition brings back the words each child still needs to practise. No ads, works offline, and the voice never leaves the device.
Talkyzoo is an English-learning app for children ages 4 to 7, built on a simple idea: before kids read or write a new language, they need to hear it and speak it.
Children travel across a zoo map, unlocking animal houses as they progress. Each stage mixes short activities, such as saying words out loud, building words, matching pictures, a memory game and Banana Attack, plus a karaoke where the lyrics light up with the music and kids can record themselves singing. Stars earned along the way can be traded for scenes and animals in the shop.
Pronunciation is checked by a speech-recognition model based on OpenAI's Whisper that runs entirely on the device: the audio is never sent to any server. A spaced-repetition system inspired by the Leitner method brings back the words each child hasn't mastered yet, so every session adapts.
Talkyzoo has no ads, works 100% offline and includes a parents' area with progress and screen-time settings. It is developed by Nuvens Grampeadas, an independent studio in Brazil.
