Children learn languages the natural way — by listening, repeating, and playing. Talkyzoo is built on that exact principle: before reading or writing, a child needs to hear and speak.
That's why every piece of content in the app is audio-based. No text to read, no pressure. Children interact with the animals in the zoo through voice games, memory challenges, quizzes, and drag-and-drop activities — each one designed to reinforce vocabulary in a different way and keep them engaged.
Talkyzoo uses the Leitner System of spaced repetition, developed by German journalist and scientist Sebastian Leitner in the 1970s. The principle is simple: words a child hasn't mastered yet show up more often. Words already learned appear at longer intervals.
This progressive spacing is based on Ebbinghaus's Forgetting Curve — the more the brain is challenged to retrieve a piece of information at just the right moment, the stronger and more lasting the memory becomes.
In practice, this means every session is personalized: the app learns which words each child has mastered and which ones still need reinforcement, automatically adjusting what gets practiced next.
The child doesn't just hear the words in English — they have to say them out loud. The app listens, evaluates, and responds — like a patient teacher who never gets tired of hearing the same word a thousand times.
Music is one of the most natural ways to learn a language: rhythm and melody help kids hold on to words and whole phrases. In TalkyZoo's karaoke, the lyrics light up in time with the song and the child sings along.
Then they can listen to their own recording. Comparing their voice with the song helps kids notice on their own where their pronunciation isn't quite there yet — and try again. It's self-correction by ear, the same thing that happens when we learn to sing a song we love.
Recordings are saved only on the family's device.
Short daily sessions are enough to build the habit — no burnout, no fighting over screen time.
Learning never stops — not in the car, not on a trip, not at home without wi-fi.
Peace of mind: zero ads, safe content, and no purchases accessible to children.
Consistent reinforcement that complements classroom lessons — it doesn't replace them.

Talkyzoo isn't just another English app. It's a child's first contact with a new language — made to be fun, safe, and effective.
